Hello! I'm Casper ter Kuile.

I'm building a world of joyful belonging. In the middle of enormous changes in how we "do" community and spirituality, I connect people and co-create projects that help us live lives of greater meaning and depth. Nothing makes me happier than learning about religious tradition and reimagining it for our modern context.

I work as the Director of Possibility at the On Being Impact Lab, where our purpose is 21st century formation - nourishing, accompanying and emboldening people to become who they long to be. I hold Masters of Divinity and Public Policy degrees from Harvard University, and remain a Ministry Innovation Fellow at Harvard Divinity School.

Since 2015, together with my colleagues, I've led How We Gather, mapping and convening leaders on the front edge of community and spirituality. We've authored multiple reports - including How We Gather and Care of Souls - and have been covered in the New York Times, Boston Globe and on PBS.

I've learned that the best innovation is rooted in tradition. To that end, I co-host a podcast, Harry Potter and the Sacred Text, which engages a modern classic through ancient sacred reading practices. Over the last year, we've had over 6 million downloads and tour regularly.

Before moving to the United States, I co-founded Campaign Bootcamp and the UK Youth Climate Coalition - both training and mobilizing young activists.

I live in Cambridge, MA with my husband Sean Lair.
